Our Decorative Vinyl Floor Mats
Our shop has been open for just under two months. It has been an adventure considering we launched during the pandemic.
Going back in time, about seven or so years ago, we were at a trade show in Las Vegas and came across some beautiful vinyl floor mats. We thought if we ever did another design store, we would have them as one of our suppliers.
Fast forward and we are now living back in Canada. In planning for our little shop here in Wolfville, we started to look for those mats again. It took some sleuthing because we couldn’t remember the manufacturer’s name. Eventually, we found Beija Flor in Israel.
We brought in a line called Borgo from Beija Flor; here are some examples from our home:
We found some other patterns that had the simplicity we like. For example, Emelia, that's in our front hall is shown here.
We also care about the quality of these mats, their environmental impact, and what went into the manufacture of them. We found some other mats but they had a plastic smell, and since we didn’t want any harmful chemicals, that would just not do. Beija Flor mats meet strict European environmental standards.
We looked at all the other manufacturers but kept coming back to Beija Flor in Israel. They had exactly what we liked, particularly the slightly vintage look to the designs.
They also had some mats for kids—Beija Kids they call them. Here's one I put in our mudroom. It's both whimsical and easy to clean up.
It seems our decision to sell them was a good one; we’ve already reordered twice, a good indicator since our shop has only been open for two months. We still love them and we hope that our customers do too! Take a look at the Beija Flor Collection.
